July 2018 – July 2019 Kit Malthouse: Disappointment, as knew something. Attended a cladding meeting; sorted a leasehold houses issue in constituency.
Jan 2018 – July 2018 Dominic Raab: Utterly silent.
Jun 2017 – Jan 2018 Alok Sharma: Silent.
July 2016 – June 2017 Gavin Barwell: The only significant one. Called out the compromised Leasehold Advisory Service. Backed boss Sajid Javid’s call for zero ground rents, banning leasehold houses and leasehold reform.
July 2014 – July 2016 Brandon Lewis: Developers’ chum.
Oct 2013 – July 2014 Kris Hopkins: Useless.

We should also add Ministers Lewis and Sharma sent private letters thanking us for our work.
With Lewis it was for helping officials produce what we now know was their first ever set of reliable data on the sector.
With Sharma he thanked us and the APPG for our early work on the cladding crisis. It was more of a thanks for all your help I’ve been persuaded by officials to give yet more money to LEASE.
Gavin Barwell was persuaded LEASE should finally be stopped from their long-standing efforts to help landlords gain an advantage over leaseholders. He was only naive in thinking leopards just change their spots.

Yes but where can ambitious politicians have a wee brief long enough to get something on their CV? Actually meant to do something? Spare us seagulls ahoy.

I do not like your new website, I find it difficult to identify the chronological order of articles.
You might have – most certainly have – heard of the saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

David, I certainly Agree.

When on earth are they going to sort out the park home sector once and for all? Talk about continuity.

As a long time sufferer of being ripped off by HOME GROUND and FIRST PORT, In my opinion there is only one course of action to take. That is at least write to your M P and ask if you have his support in LEASEHOLD REFORM. You cannot leave it up to the people who moan about it.
I have found out to my cost, that the biggest moaners are not willing to put themselves out.
I actually got a meeting with FIRST PORT, which was not easy . We got the meeting arranged just about half a mile from where the flats are situated. Of the 4 blocks of flats, 4 flats in each block, 16 owners all told, Only 4 people attended, I watched this mousy little female with a copy of the lease in her hand, she was accompanied by a giant of a male who just happened to have the same sir name as mousy, but we all got a coffee on First Port, and they made sure they got the receipt.
So my conclusion is, if we are to get this crippling service charge removed it is going to take
a concerted effort from people who are determined to have it removed.
We did actually get a lowering of the service charges, not by much, but something, I actually
blew mine on a Latte to celebrate.
